SKILL AREAS EXPLAINED

SETTING

Setting is arguably the most critical position on the floor. They are the point guard and the quarterback and make critical decisions regarding where and whom to set. There is a shortage of setters, especially trained setters. We will provide the skills and the mind to be a GREAT setter. Beginners are unable to participate but can refer to 2025 4U Summer - VolleyKidz!

NET PLAY

Combines all the necessary skills and strategies involved with the front row. Focus will include attacking skills and strategies; communication with setter; and blocking. Training will involve both combining with other positions and segregated skill work. Suited for athletes with good basic skills. Beginners are unable to participate but can refer to 2025 4U Summer - VolleyKidz! .

BACKCOURT SKILLS

Train specifically in all areas BACK ROW. Focus will be on advanced serving, including strategies; serve receive skills; individual defensive skills, emergency setting and team concepts. Suited for athletes with good basic skills who play the back row only OR six-rotation kids who want to become excellent in the back row. Beginners are unable to participate but can refer to 2025 4U Summer - VolleyKidz!

VOLLEY KIDZ

Train specifically in all areas BACK ROW. Focus will be on serve development; serve receive skills; individual defensive skills and team concepts. Players will learn the importance of 'first ball'. Suited for athletes with good basic skills. Beginners are unable to participate but can refer to 2025 4U Summer - VolleyKidz!

About 4U Summer Series

The Basic Idea

The '25 Summer Skill Series consists of two (90) minute sessions available for skilled players on M/W in June/July. There are three skill areas or positions offered, allowing the athletes to experiment or to dig in and train in their positions. Make no mistake, every athlete benefits from every area!

Beginners should attend the VolleyKidz program!

PRICING

Fees - $25 per 90-minute session
SUMMER TRAINING PASS...Great idea for our regulars!
Minimum 4 athletes per session; preferred max of 8
